Mark Brownstein is the Director of Medicare at Emerald Medicare, where he brings decades of experience as a strategic advisor helping individuals make clear, confident decisions in an often confusing Medicare landscape.
Known for his direct, no-nonsense approach, Mark simplifies complexity and cuts through misinformation. He doesn’t just present options—he helps clients understand what matters, why it matters, and how to choose the right path based on their specific situation.
Over the course of his career, Mark has led educational workshops for more than 4,000 clients and advisors and has guided over 3,000 individuals—including financial professionals, medical staff, veterans, and senior advisors—through Medicare decisions. His ability to combine deep knowledge with practical, real-world guidance makes him a trusted resource for both individuals and professionals.
A three-time President of his local Financial Planning Association (FPA), Mark is recognized as a decisive leader who sets high standards and follows through. He builds strong systems, develops high-performing teams, and is deeply committed to delivering a consistently excellent client experience.
At his core, Mark is both strategic and protective—a strong advocate who ensures his clients are not taken advantage of and who stands firmly behind the solutions he recommends.
Personal Background
Mark is deeply involved in the communities he serves and is an active board member of several local organizations, including Rivertown Film, the Nyack Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Nyack. He regularly leads Medicare workshops and public speaking events, providing clear, unbiased education for individuals and their families.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Mark spent 12 years living and working in the western United States before returning to the East Coast. He has lived in Nyack, New York for more than 30 years.
Outside of his professional work, Mark enjoys tennis, swimming, cycling, film, music, and spending time with friends and family.
